i wanted to create a more comprehensive list of helpful final fantasy xiv links, since the lists on places like r/ffxiv are full of outdated information. all resources listed below are relevant and up to date as of patch 6.4, to the best of my knowledge.

the lodestone: official site

server status eorzea database: official database of items, quests, etc; various options for searching and sorting

ui guide: highly recommended for new and returning players; doesn't just cover ui but a broad range of need-to-know topics

online store

WIKIS & DATABASES

ffxiv @ consolegameswiki: complete game guide presented in traditional wiki format

ffxiv wiki @ gamerescape: as above but with a slightly different format. both have pros and cons; which one you use is up to personal preference. if you can't find something on one wiki, try the other.

final fantasy wiki: more general wiki for the entire series; useful for looking up lore and characters as opposed to straight gameplay information

garland tools database: database of basically everything in the game you can imagine, with extensive options for searching, sorting, saving lists, etc.

JOBS & COMBAT

the balance: in-depth guides and best in slot armor builds for all combat jobs, whether you're levelling, a fresh 90, or looking to take your job into savage and beyond.

GEAR & GLAMOUR

ffxiv armoury guide: no-nonense gear previews for nearly every set in the game, with options for sorting by job, level, duty, etc. click the flag in the upper right corner to toggle between japanese and english.

COLLECTIBLES

ffxiv collect: the best ffxiv collectible guide and tracker on the english speaking internet. can be synced to your lodestone account to automatically track your achievements, titles, mounts and minions, and has easy-to-use tools for tracking your other collectibles as well.
